March Scopes currently offers the following Second Focal Plane (SFP) Reticle options. Not all reticles are available in all scopes. To see First Focal Plane (FFP) options click here.
A SFP Reticle, is a reticle that is placed towards the back of the scope. This means that the reticle remains the same regardless of if you increase or decrease the magnification as the user increases or decreases the magnification of the scope. The advantage of a SFP Reticle, is that you can use ultra fine reticles without worrying about being able to see them at low magnification. The reticles sub-tensions(markings) are only true at one specific power, indicated by the markings on the scope.
This is different from a FFP Reticle because a FFP Reticle increases or decreases in size visually as you change magnification, but the reticle sub-tensions are always true to their markings.
